Pricing

Free to try. Unlimited when you're ready.

Merge HDR on your own device — full resolution, no watermark, no account, no uploads. Try MergeHDR free, then unlock unlimited saves with a one-time $19.99 or $9.99/year — whichever you prefer. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac, with Family Sharing.

HDR merging usually gets sold one of two ways: a subscription you keep paying whether you merged five photos or five hundred that month, or a per-photo credit system that adds up the more you actually use it. MergeHDR keeps it simple — try it for free, then unlock unlimited saves whichever way suits you: pay $19.99 once and it's yours for good, or $9.99 a year. No per-photo fees, no metering, and the app is identical either way — whether you're on your iPhone in the field or your Mac at a desk.

How that compares

A few of the tools people compare MergeHDR against, and how each one prices HDR merging. We link to a full write-up on each — never a takedown, just the facts that matter for choosing a workflow.

ToolPricing model
MergeHDR Free to try, then $19.99 once or $9.99/year — Universal across iPhone, iPad and Mac
Luminar Neo (HDR Merge) Subscription, or a paid one-time extension on top of the app
Imagen AI (HDR Merge) Per-photo, cloud-processed credits
Photomatix Pro One-time purchase, desktop only (~$99)

Most HDR tools are subscription-only or desktop-only. MergeHDR gives you a free way to try it, a low yearly plan, and a one-time lifetime option — on every Apple device you own. What it avoids is metering: no per-photo credits, no cloud processing you rent by the frame, no paying more the more you use it. Whether you merge one bracket set a year or thousands the price is the same, and whether you pay once or yearly is entirely up to you.

Questions

One-time purchase or yearly plan?

Your choice — the app and every feature in it are identical either way. $19.99 once is yours forever, including future updates. $9.99 a year costs less up front and renews until you cancel. If you expect to keep MergeHDR longer than two years, buying once works out cheaper.

What happens if my yearly plan lapses?

Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked away. MergeHDR simply returns to the free tier, and every HDR image you've already exported stays exactly where it is, in your library, yours. Renew whenever you like to go unlimited again.

What's your refund policy?

All purchases go through Apple, so refunds follow the standard App Store process: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or from the App Store on your device. We don't handle payments or refunds directly.

Do I pay again when a new version ships?

No. Updates are free on both plans — the one-time purchase covers every future version, and the yearly plan includes them for as long as it's active. There's no separate upgrade fee and no version-to-version paywall.

Do I pay twice for iPhone, iPad and Mac?

No — Universal Purchase means one purchase unlocks MergeHDR everywhere you're signed in with the same Apple ID, and Family Sharing extends that to your family group.

Is there a bundle with RAWtoHEIC?

Not yet, but the two apps already work together: MergeHDR can compress a merged HDR result straight to HEIC on export using the same on-device pipeline as RAWtoHEIC (opens in a new tab). Each app is purchased separately for now.
